School Board Unanimously Adopts Pre-Labor Day Calendar
 

The Loudoun County School Board unanimously adopted a calendar that will open school before Labor Day for the 2011-2012 school year at its Tuesday, October 12th, meeting. The earlier starting time will allow school to close on June 8, 2012, eight days earlier than this school year.

The earlier opening date was made possible because Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) now qualifies for a weather waiver under the Virginia law that requires schools open after Labor Day.

*NOTE: Parents with child-care or other weekday scheduling concerns - Dates of the Moveable Planning/Records/Conference Day between first and second semesters may change if the school calendar must be changed due to school closings for inclement weather or other emergencies.
