Welcome to the Briar Woods Social Studies home page. 
 
Information on course selections for rising 9th graders is available at left.

Social sciences at Briar Woods include the four year core sequence of:
       9th grade- World History I or Pre-AP World History
      10th grade- World History II or AP World History
      11th grade- US/Virginia History or AP US History
      12th grade- US/Virginia Government or AP Comparative Government
 
Additionally, for the 2012-2013 school year the following electives will be offered:
      AP Econcomics (Micro and Macro)
      AP Psychology
          AP Human Geography
      Survey of African History (Dual enrollment course through NVCC)
         Economics (semester)
      World Religions (semester)
      Modern International Relations (semester)
      The World of Ideas (semester)
      Psychology (semester)
      Global Social Issues (semester)
