Mercer Library Mission and Vision

The Mercer library is a learning space ready for the 21st century. This library is a teaching and learning think tank where teachers, reading coaches, technology resources, language specialists, and the librarian collaboratively design, develop, implement, and practice knowledge-building instruction that serves the needs of a 21st century learner.  Students in this learning space will regard the library as portal to creativity, collaboration, and inquiry.  Our mission is to empower students to become avid, world class readers who regard reading as the key component to their success.  Our students will be proficient in current literacies, as well as the emerging literacies that they will need to navigate the 21st century.  In this learning commons students will not just learn, they will learn how to learn.
